Creating Sustainable and Just Cities – The UrbanA experiment
October 10, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm WEST
SATURDAY 19:00 -20:30 (UTC+01 – Lisbon time) Livraria Ler Devagar, Lisbon + Online over zoom + youtube
UrbanA synthesizes and brokers knowledge for sustainable and just cities and translates it into action. It facilitates interaction among diverse participants, and empowers them to apply this knowledge about just sustainable cities locally. It also aims to influence policies in favour of sustainable and just cities.
This discussion will follow a walking tour in the city, exploring the urban issues of the talk and what they might mean in current urban transformations happening in the changing city of Lisbon today. The event seeks to build on earlier discussions about Lisbon with local city makers and the UrbanA community, whether Europe´s 2020 Green Capital is helping transform Lisbon into a Sustainable and Just City.
This event is part of the Umundu eco festival in Lisbon (9-17 October). It is a “Blended event”, an experimental hybrid space, connecting both participants in a physical location, with others online through new communication technologies.
