Movie Night on #SustainableJustCities: The Right to Housing with “PUSH – The Film”
June 17, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm UTC+0
We are excited to invite you for our very first online “Movie Night on #SustainableJustCities” with a screening of “PUSH – The Film” on the global housing crisis. This is organized as part of the Vital Cities & Citizens (VCC) initiative of the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, in collaboration with UrbanA and DRIFT. It is the first part of #SustainableJustCities event series by VCC initiative with focus on the Right to Housing.
The covid-19 crisis has exposed several inequities in our cities and at its core is the issue of access to adequate and affordable housing. Long before the shocks of covid-19 crisis, the commodification of the housing market has threatened our right to housing, and constantly changed the very nature and rules of living in cities. PUSH – The Film captures the complexity of this global housing crisis and makes the invisible power relations more tangible. The event will begin with a short introduction to the general theme of Sustainable and Just Cities. After the movie there is an interactive World Café to explore the intersection of the housing crisis with wider challenges of social and ecological (in)justice and the resulting challenges, tensions, possibilities and opportunities for the future.
You are welcome to join this online movie night while having dinner and/or drinks!
