UrbanA Community Conversation: Planning Eco-inclusive Districts
November 10, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm CET

UrbanA Community Conversations (CoCos) are a series of regular (nearly biweekly) online events that bring together people with a passion for urban sustainability and justice to connect, learn, discuss and have fun.
In this CoCo we will explore how city planners and development agencies can create eco-inclusive districts. The discussion is led by UrbanA fellow Marteen Markus, who has been trained as an Urban Planner focusing on sustainable development in real estate projects and worked in the field of urban renewal in the city of Amsterdam. In his presentation he will refer to his work for the Dutch AM urban development agency, and how AM is trying to reconnect issues of social inclusion to sustainability in the sphere of urban districts development.
He has worked on furthering the eco-inclusive district approach with a broad public/private consortium with participants from the cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam, housing association Havensteder, rental agency Altera, Developers MRP and AM, and SyrinxPR, LeerLink and TU Delft. In this session the aim is to reflect on some key challenges and potential solutions of Eco-incusive districts.
When? 10th November 15:00 – 16:30 CET.
