PEOPLE
UrbanA participants include policy-makers, activists, entrepreneurs, intellectuals, citizens and those interested in designing and transforming cities into sustainable, inclusive and thriving urban environments. They are city-makers and city-thinkers who want to learn from existing and new approaches to the challenges they face. All UrbanA participants have joined one of the four Urban Arenas.
Do you want to become an UrbanA participants? Keep an eye on our website to apply to the next Urban Arena.
A number of participants, known as UrbanA fellows, will attend all four Arena events. UrbanA fellows will contribute to the continuity of the Urban Arena by sharing their knowledge or skills and reporting on their involvement, by writing blog posts, for example. UrbanA fellows were chosen via a public call for applicants in August & September 2019.
The UrbanA team will also invite interested participants to propose and organize a session or sessions during the Arena events.
There will be an opportunity for participants in different locations to get involved with Arena side events, which are smaller co-creative spaces organised prior to the four main events.

UrbanA team members bring a wealth of experience, skill and passion to the project. Mainly researchers, their topics of interest range from urban planning and policy to social inequality, environmental justice, sustainability transitions, nature-based design, participatory city-making and innovative forms of governance. In addition to academic skills the team has facilitation, communication and podcasting know-how, as well as a commitment to collective learning.
